PUTTING AN APP
ON THE MAP,
OR HOW WE NAILED
A PROJECT FOR THE YOUNG’UNS

  • BTL

CLIENT: Nowa Era Publishing House
BRAND: Rebel.to
CAMPAIGN: The Little Flyer That Could
  • BTL

IDEA:

A client walks into an ad agency and orders a flyer. ‘No problem!’, the agency says. We take a moment to contemplate how flyers are all the rage right now. Not. Let’s hope that our target audience of blasé middle schoolers is really into vintage media…
For real though, boredom intolerance is what makes us and the Generation Whatevs very much alike. That is why we came up with some hip flyer cutouts: a mustache and a pair of specs, with the accompanying text in young-speak.
This resonated with students, who Facebooked and Instagrammed the heck out of our selfie-ready handiwork. On our end, we shared the joy that comes with the ability to fully connect.

The flyer, which announced a new educational smartphone app,

came shaped either as cool glasses for girls or as a proper ‘stache for boys (each proved popular with both genders). Soon, the flyers were put to creative use as, for instance, door hangers.

Designed with a modern, colorful look, they tested as fully teen-compatible.

So did the app info itself – we get that #kidsthesedays can’t be bothered with a Tolstoy, so we kept the details to a CliffsNotes minimum.

We do know that a closed door (with a hanger on) is what teens really want (duh!),

yet we hope that our flyer is still used as primarily intended, simply to mark pages of a book – because we believe reading is still a thing.

SO YOU’D FANCY
A LEAFLET THAT
IS THE COOLEST?
